Structured Workplace Learning (SWL)

Today's students are our future. The challenges they face are very different from those of previous generations. In preparing to leave the comfort zone of the classroom, the journey to the unknown world of employment can be difficult to navigate.

Structured Workplace Learning forms the link between the classroom and the workplace, through the collaboration of schools and employers. It provides opportunities for students to explore careers in a safe, supported environment, resulting in informed career choices, and better career preparation. Structured work placements are created for tomorrow’s achievers, giving students a competitive edge. OnSite is a structured work placement subject offered to motivate students in Years 11 and 12. It provided students with the opportunity to learn and gain credit for work skills. It is recognized as a subject for graduation, can be used as additional TAFE entry points and provides students with a Skills Profile which is useful for future employment.
