Safe Schools
Supportive Schools Project
A safe schools environment means that staff and students enjoy coming to school because everyone wants to feel safe and school is deemed to be a safe and happy place.
As one of our goals for this project, the student councilors will be handing out safety cards that students could place in their wallets or diary. These cards include information about how to prevent bullying and what to do if you see or experience unkind behaviour. It also shows phone numbers and websites that you could go to if you wanted help in dealing with any difficulties.
We will also be having a screen saving competition for our school computers. All year groups would be eligible to participate but it is mainly for our Year 8’s to 10. The aim will be to create a screen saver with images and slogans to support a safe and happy school environment for everyone; a place where everyone is treated with courtesy and respect. Prizes will include things such as $100 iTunes or Sanity Vouchers. Details for this competition will be published over the next few weeks. We ask that all students support these initatives.
