Areas of Responsibility

The School Management Team which is made up of the Principal, the Deputy Principal of Curriculum and the Deputy Principal of the College Students, is responsible for overseeing the pastoral care direction of the College.

Key Principles of Pastoral Care

  • Each person in the school is involved in pastoral care
  • Pastoral care permeates all educational activities
  • Pastoral care embraces the many relationships between every person in the school
  • Pastoral care respects each person's rights and freedom
  • Pastoral care is implicit: all events that occur in the whole enterprise of the school have a pastoral focus

  • Pastoral care assists to fulfil the needs of students and staff
  • Pastoral care requires regular evaluation

Classroom Environment

In the classroom, the environment created should be one where:

  • There is a sense of family
  • All students show care and support for each other
  • All students respect one another and the personal worth of each person is valued
  • Differences in others (physical, intellectual, cultural, socio-economic) are accepted and respected
  • A sense of justice in relationships is promoted
  • Students are encouraged to achieve their potential
